Toronto Scouts is a welcoming, co-ed community youth group serving children and young people ages 5 to 18 all over Toronto.

With more than a century of history in the local community, Toronto Scouts gives young people opportunities to make friends, build confidence, develop leadership skills, learn practical life skills, explore the outdoors, and contribute to their community through weekly meetings, camps, adventures, and community service.

Scouting for Kids & Teens

Programs are available for different age groups, allowing children and youth to participate in activities suited to their stage of development. Each section meets regularly during the school year, with additional weekend camps, outdoor adventures, and summer activities throughout the year.

Scouting provides children with opportunities to learn by doing. Members can develop teamwork, independence, resilience, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills while taking part in exciting experiences with their peers.

Beavers: Ages 5-7

The Beavers program introduces younger children to the fun and adventure of Scouting in a supportive environment. Activities can include overnight camps, nature hikes, stargazing, outdoor exploration, games, and building projects such as Beaver Buggies.

It’s a great introduction to camping, teamwork, friendship, and outdoor learning for children ages 5 to 7.

Cubs: Ages 8-10

Cubs offers children ages 8 to 10 more opportunities to explore, experiment, and take on new challenges. Activities can include hiking, camping, rock climbing, outdoor challenges, city adventures, STEM-style activities, and team-building games.

Cubs also have opportunities to participate in multiple camping trips throughout the year, including cabin and tent camping experiences.

Scouts: Ages 11-14

The Scouts program is designed for youth ages 11 to 14 who are ready for bigger adventures and greater responsibility. Activities can include weekend camping, canoe trips, hiking, outdoor skills, white-water rafting, engineering and building challenges, and leadership opportunities.

Scouts can develop greater independence while learning practical outdoor and survival skills and supporting younger members of the group.

Venturers: Ages 15-18

Venturers gives older teens the opportunity to take greater ownership of their Scouting experience. Members can help plan their own camps, activities, community service projects, social events, and outdoor adventures.

Activities can range from camping trips and outdoor adventures to skill-building, game nights, community service, and extended expeditions, giving teens opportunities to develop leadership, planning, teamwork, and real-world skills.

Camps, Outdoor Adventures & Community Service

Camping and outdoor exploration are an important part of the Toronto Scouts experience. Young people can participate in overnight camps, weekend camping trips, canoeing, hiking, climbing, nature activities, outdoor challenges, and summer adventures.

Community service is also an important part of the program, helping young people understand the value of contributing to their neighbourhood and making a positive difference in the wider community.
